Friday August 22nd: 2 Timothy Chapter 4 / Ready to Love His Appearing
[Click Here for 2 Timothy Chapter 4 Notes]
We love you Ginny. We thank God that He protected you. You did a great job Michael.
For those who do not know, Ginny almost drowned last week as she was swimming and got hooked on a branch. She was held under water for over 2 minutes until Michael Gastfield released her. She was flown to Mary bridge Hospital and is home now with what looks like no permanent injuries.
God is Good. Our life and times are in His hands and every day is precious. This week we will learn how to live our lives to the fullest as we wait for the Glorious appearing of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds. These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority.
See you Friday, Nick
PS. We will be having a party next week to mark the beginning of a new season for Our Refuge. God willing we will love more, learn more, apply more, grow more, and see more souls saved than ever before.,..so stick around Ginny
Grace and Peace, Nick
Friday August 15th: 2 Timothy Chapter 3 / Imposters

Hey!
Thank you for praying for the direction of this ministry. As you know, in two weeks the format for Our Refuge is going to change from what it has been for the last few years. Possibly an “Unplugged”* version of Fridays will start; though we are waiting for a Word from the Lord for He is the One we follow, not expecting Him to follow us.
As was obvious this past Friday, there continues to be a strong desire to dive into God’s Word and apply it to our lives. I consider it a privilege to teach His Word and look forward to continuing to do that in whatever format and/or venue He chooses.
Keep praying…see ya Friday, Nick
Ps. T, Bonnie, Mike and Wayne: It was a blessing to have you here yesterday and a privilege to know that you can find refuge here. Nick
* I will explain later if the Lord develops this thought
Friday July 25th: Refuge Outreach at Arlo and Tonja Poe’s House!
[Click Here for : “Absolute Truth / Narrow Minded” Notes]
This week we are meeting at the Poe’s at the regular time, 7:00pm. Invitations made by Simon have been handed out through the neighborhood.
The Refuge Band will be play, Food will be on hand, and the Word will go out. This will be a great time to invite lots of people and use what we have learned to talk to others about Jesus and invite them to upcoming Friday Night’s at the church.
We will try to do this once a month, LORD willing. Pray for God to do things beyond anything we could even think of!
Directions: Take Locust Street and go east (Locust is the street the college is on). Go straight on locust until the end where it begins to go uphill. Before going uphill look to your left for 513 E. Locust.
ps. Someone will be at the church in case someone shows up that does not know the plan

Friday July 11th: Sharing Jesus / Witnessing and Apologetics 101: Part 1 of 2
[Witnessing Power Point Presentation][Witnessing 101: Notes Updated 7/8/08]
We are moving out an moving forward. Dont fear! Just in case you have never read our mission statement:
The mission of Our Refuge is simple; we desire to see people “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ” through a personal relationship with Him and Christ centered relationships with others. (Mat. 22:37)
This twofold ministry is demonstrated through the geometry of the Cross, that is:
1. We are to nurture a vertical relationship with God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ through the reading, teaching, and preaching of his Holy Word and through two-way communication with God through prayer and biblical meditation.
2. We are to build strong horizontal relationships with others through humility, kindness, respect, and love, as outlined in 1 Corinthians chapter 13. We believe that everyone is created in God’s image and that when we sin against one another, we are in fact sinning against the God of the universe.
Our Refuge is God Himself, and we as a community of believers welcome all who know Jesus Christ, as well as anyone who is searching to find purpose in living. If you are interested in checking out Our Refuge, please do not hesitate to contact us at: nickcosta@hotmail.com.
Please print a copy of this weeks notes and bring them Friday (I will have some on hand).
We are going to have a blast as we learn how to share our faith with boldness to a world that is slipping away right before our eyes.
See ya Friday. bring a friend, saved or not…Nick
